Stay on Track

To execute a plan that has so many moving parts, you need the mechanisms to stay on track:

  • Regular Check Ins – At Least Weekly:ย to stay on course, you need to get all your resources together once a week to check in with the plan. If multiple people have pieces of the plan, use this meeting to check against progress, solve problems and make sure everyone is on track.
  • One Page Weekly Summary Communication:ย a one pager which outlines what is going on in the company.
  • Clear Metrics and Reports:ย everyone needs to see exactly where the team is against the plan. In every check in each team member needs to come with a snapshot of where they are against the plan
  • Project Management: you need to make your plan a reality using project management tools. We recommend ASANA – a simple way to create a plan, assign tasks and execute to it.

You need these processes in order to keep your plan on track.

“We WILL get through this together.”ย

You will need the best of your team. Demand these four attributes:

  • Accountability:ย everyone should โ€œownโ€ their stuff. Take action. Be proactive. Own. Not โ€œown but..โ€ Own.
  • Teamwork:ย accountability only works well when we are a team. We are all here to help.
  • Candor:ย itโ€™s all about performing and any feedback or constructive dialogue is not only welcomed but expected.
  • Discipline:ย have it all together. On time. Prepared. Proactive.

Everyone will need to be on the same page, focused and at their best during these times. These behaviors will help you give yourself a greater chance of success.
